Our elegant black beauty with a charming tilt!
Blavant came to us from Broward County Animal Care after being rescued from a large hoarding situation. Life in those crowded, stressful conditions left its mark: she developed a permanent head tilt caused by vestibular disease — a disorder of the inner ear that affects balance and coordination. Vestibular disease in cats can result from ear infections, inflammation, trauma, or unknown causes. While Blavant’s episode has long since passed, her endearing tilt remains as a gentle reminder of her past.
When she arrived, we paired her with another kitty named Avant — also living with vestibular disease — believing that two souls with similar challenges might find comfort in each other.
Now five years old, Blavant has fully embraced her second chance. Her slight tilt gives her a forever-curious look, as if she’s deeply engaged in everything you say or do. She’ll sit nearby, head angled just so, following every movement as though you’re sharing the most fascinating story.
